Once again 7th grade social studies teacher Andrew Liss of Thomas Jefferson Middle School has been published in the Teacher Edition of Junior Scholastic magazine. Andrew
is featured in a selection of best practice activities where he
provides a lesson that incorporates information as to how students can become involved in the fight against world hunger. Andrew runs a club at TJ that involves the students in a micro-lending, nonprofit venture called Kiva. Students at TJ conduct fund-raisers throughout the year and lend the money to small businesses around the world. To date, Andrew and his students have loaned more than $7,000.
